Rochester School transition update
December 12, 2024
Dear Rochester School families,
As we enter the New Year, I’m pleased to provide an update on the ongoing work to support a smooth transition for Rochester School students and families in preparation for the 2025-26 school year.
Attendance areas: Aspen View Public Schools will be engaging an independent contractor to review and provide recommendations on all attendance boundaries, including the redistribution of the current Rochester School attendance area. This review will begin early in the New Year and will include opportunities for stakeholder input. The Board of Trustees will make final decisions on the new attendance boundaries in later winter, allowing families time to familiarize themselves with their new schools, bus routes, and other details.
Open houses: All schools will host open houses to welcome students and families, providing opportunities to tour the facilities and meet administrators and staff. These events typically occur in March and April, and we strongly encourage you to attend. Additionally, receiving schools will be working closely with Rochester School administration to plan special events that will further support a smooth transition for Rochester students.
Individualized support: We recognize that some families may have unique concerns. If you wish to address specific needs privately, please reach out to the Office of the Superintendent at supt@aspenview.org where I am happy to assist by arranging personalized school tours, meetings with administrators and teachers, and other accommodations to support your family’s transition.
Should you have any questions or concerns about this process, please do not hesitate to contact us using the email above. We are fully committed to ensuring that every Rochester School family experiences a positive and seamless transition into their new school community.
Wishing you a safe, healthy, and joyful Christmas season,
Constantine Kastrinos
Superintendent
