New: Student Busing Opt-Out Form

Please Read! Important Information for 2020-21 school year:

Alberta’s school re-opening strategy includes three potential scenarios for the start of the 2020-21 school year:

  1. Normal operations;
  2. Schools are open for classes with some health restrictions that affect operations; and
  3. Schools remain closed for classes and the home learning continues.

School divisions have been advised to plan for all of these scenarios, and be prepared to transition from one scenario to another quickly and efficiently.

In order to prepare for Scenario 1 or Scenario 2, Aspen View Public Schools is requesting that all students requiring bus transportation for the 2020-21 school year register now. This includes Eligible Students, Non-eligible Students, Alternate Transportation, and School of Choice Students as described below.

Alberta Education has advised that re-opening scenarios will be confirmed no later than August 1, 2020. Aspen View Public School will communicate with registered families regarding student transportation services once the re-opening scenario has been confirmed.

New for 2020-21: Student Busing Opt-Out Form – If you child is an Eligible Student (as described below) but will not require busing, we request that you please complete the Student Busing Opt-Out Form. This will assist Aspen View and its bus contractors to plan routes as efficiently as possible. Please note: completing the Student Busing Opt-Out Form does not forfeit your right to transportation, and you may opt-in at any time.
