Aspen View Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Brenna Kowalchuk and Sean Morrison as principals of Edwin Parr Composite School (EPC), effective for the 2024-25 school year.

Brenna began her teaching career with Aspen View at Smith School in 2005, teaching various subjects in Grades 3-9. She served as acting principal starting in 2010, and became the full-time principal in 2012. Brenna transferred to EPC as assistant principal in 2018. Brenna holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta and a Master of Education degree from Concordia University.

With a deep-rooted passion for education and a proven track record in leadership, Brenna is eager to contribute her skills and experiences to foster an environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Sean has been a teacher and administrator for 30 years. He started teaching in Calling Lake and came to EPC in 1999 to lead the Junior High Knowledge and Employability program. Sean became the assistant principal at EPC in 2013, serving in that role until his appointment as principal of the Centre for Alternative and Virtual Education (The CAVE) in February 2022. During his previous tenure at EPC, Sean served as Aspen View Public Schools’ design lead for the Edwin Parr Composite Replacement School project, working alongside contractors, stakeholders, students and staff until the completion of the new school in March 2018.  Sean has also coached many volleyball and basketball teams and facilitated close to 30 student ski trips to the mountains. Sean holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta.

Sean is excited for the opportunity to return to EPC in an administrative role and looks forward to working with the EPC community once again.

Starting in 2024-25, The CAVE will be administered through Edwin Parr Composite School. Ryan Mann returns as assistant principal of EPC for 2024-25.
